I ask myself that question a
lot, even more so the older I get. This week…well I had another one of those moments!
As a working mom, my kids have been in “school” since they were 3 months old. I went back to work when FLMA ended (not to mention needing money). I call daycare “school” I think it makes me feel better about where they are…learning verses just care. Although at their young ages care is the most important thing.
After switching programs, we have now found a real school that I love and so do my kids.
A little over a year ago we decided to have someone come over to the house to help with the kids, a Mom’s helper. About a month ago, we decided to get the kids from school much earlier (3:30 instead of 6pm). Our Mom’s helper would come to help while I finished working at home.
On Monday, I realized I hadn’t really thought through my plan…our helper had to help someone in her family. Fortunately
we can pay the “school” by the hour, but instead of our wonderful save money plan, we are now going to be paying double what we would have. I guess it all just reminds me that we should have a backup plan. I am really not sure what I was thinking. I know it will all work out. I am sure our helper will be back to help, but next time. Well I think I will make sure I have several backup plans.
